Déan Van Deventer
After graduating as Bachelor of Science with Geology and Geography, Déan went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Engineering Geology and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management
Déan is currently working on Auckland Airport International Limited’s Foodstuff’s warehouse development of a 65,000sq m, Green Star premises. Currently a bare greenfields site on west of George Bolt Memorial Dr, the warehouse will serve as Foodstuff’s primary distribution centre. The office development at the Landing (Auckland Airport’s business park), will provide purpose-built commercial premises for more than 1000 Foodstuffs staff.
Déan’s wider project experience includes working for a UK based company on the pre-construction management of a modular hotel project in Calgary, Canada. In this role he had an opportunity to develop project schedules, manage design teams and to further evolve his stakeholder management skills, working with project personnel from as far afield as Poland, Canada and the UK.
After returning from his O.E., Déan also spent a short time working in the recruitment sector, placing candidates in the architecture and property sectors. He recently completed the Association of Project Management Fundamentals qualification.
