Components: An 8,600m² warehouse with two offices together with associated canaopies, yard and carparking
Auckland International Airport has developed the 11 Maurice Wilson Ave project as a speculative multi-tenant facility.
The development comprised an 8,600m² warehouse and with two offices – a 2 storey 550m² office and a single storey 400m² office together with associated canaopies, yard and carparking.
The site is a long slender piece of land that needed to not only make transit of large trucks possible, but also take into consideration the potential for future expansion of the neighbouring property. The landscaping and exterior aesthetic of the building is of the utmost importance to AIAL and this project did not disappoint.
Xigo were engaged as Project Manager and Engineer to the Contract for the design, procurement and construction of the development. The project involved an integrated design of the base build and tenant fit out components for both the office and warehouse. Both AIAL and ITW engaged Xigo as the project managers for their respective works on the project and the construction was run under one all-encompassing contract.
Substantial value engineering was carried out during the design phases to ensure we went to tender below budget, this resulted in the development being successfully completed in February 2015. This was on time and under budget for both the base building works and fit out works.
