The NZICC is being developed under agreement between SKYCITY and the New Zealand Government.
With a gross floor area of approximately 85,000m2 (including carparks) the NZICC will be an adaptive conference and event venue with state of the art plenary facilities, extensive exhibition spaces and meeting and break out spaces. Integral to the design are a new 300 bed hotel, links to the city, and neighbouring retail and entertainment experiences.

Xigo Director, David Wilkie was appointed as the interim project director, responsible for kicking off the project, including brief finalisation, developing the project delivery strategy, leading Government and Council stakeholder and other relationship management throughout and advising on procurement strategy formulation and engaging the consultant team.
David managed the team through the initiation phase and concept design before handing over to SKYCITY’s directly employed internal project director. David continues to provide advisory services to the NZICC project. He acts as an advisor to the SKYCITY Executive, in particular around procurement, risk and programme and stakeholder relationship management.
