Components: Education: new build school campus
Situated on a 14ha greenfield site on Pyes Pa Road (SH36) on the outskirts of Tauranga, the new school will be developed into a state-of–the-art school campus, eventually offering co-educational schooling to around 700 students, from early childhood through to Year 13.
Stage 1 will comprise the construction of the primary school, early childhood centre, a gymnasium, three sports fields, car-parking and landscaping, plus completion of all supporting infrastructure services.
The project will then be completed during Stage 2 with the addition of the secondary school, an administration block and boarding facility, plus completion of remaining support services, landscaping, roading and car parking (209 car parks by completion).
Xigo director Mike Ward and Senior Project Manager Danny Lee will work closely with ACG and all project consultants and contractors to deliver a quality school project in time for the opening of the primary school for Term 1 2015.
Presently land around the school remains largely undeveloped, but eventually an additional 200ha of land around the school will see new residential development.
Earthworks commenced in February 2014 with HEB Construction as earthworks contractors and Hawkins Construction engaged as building contractors. Other Xigo partners on the project are Babbage Consultants as architect, structural and building services engineer, and BECA as civil engineer and town planner.
