Hugh Green retirement village is a large purpose built aged care facility for Bupa Care Services. The development comprises of 100 hospital rooms, including dementia and palliative care, and 71 purpose built apartments. The apartments are a combination of one to three bedroom configurations which are serviced by basement car parking.
The development offers apartment residents a number of recreational facilities including a pool, gymnasium, library, theatre, hairdressing salon and café. The development sits within a large landscaped greenspace that allows resident and visitor enjoyment.
The hospital provides 24 hour assistance and is supported by other facilities, which include physiotherapy and rehabilitation activities, as well as internal and external courtyards to allow dementia residents to enjoy the gardens in a controlled environment.
The hospital and apartment buildings are linked by a central reception, administration, and staffroom and management office and are supported by a commercial kitchen and laundry.
Xigo have managed the project from conception through all design, Resource and multiple Building Consent stages and construction via ECI. This included liaising and management of multiple stakeholders and careful consideration of operational aspects, resident and staffing activities and revenue streams.
